Building Confidence Through Performance

Performing is an essential part of every musician's journey, helping students develop confidence, resilience, and stage presence. At The Green Room, we believe that performance opportunities should be encouraging and enjoyable—not just reserved for formal recitals. That iss why we offer a variety of experiences, from relaxed in-studio performances and spontaneous jam sessions to polished public concerts, allowing every student to grow at their own pace while celebrating their progress.

Learning to Work and Perform Together

While making music independently is a rewarding and valuable skill, some of the most memorable musical experiences happen when we create music with others. Ensemble playing teaches students to listen, communicate, collaborate, and support one another—skills that extend far beyond music. At The Green Room, we create regular opportunities for students to perform, rehearse, and make music together, fostering confidence, friendships, and a true sense of community.

Lessons focus on building technique, general music knowledge (music theory and music history) and ear development. All students follow an accredited music syllabus. For repertoire we like to choose from the following syllabuses:

• Classical Music - Trinity and ABRSM (Royal Schools of Music) 

• Rock and Pop Streams - Trinity Rock & Pop and Rock School London 

Students are also welcome to listen to music at home and bring ideas for pieces they would like to learn to the lesson.

While students are encouraged to participate in Eisteddfods and performances or enter external exams, it is not a prerequisite to be part of the studio. The studio will offer more than one internal performance opportunity per year where everyone will have the chance to share what they have learned.
